Is space exploration worth the cost?




     Space exploration is worth the cost. Below are three reasons to support my view.
     Firstly, people will be able to live on other planets. The population on Earth has been increasing, so there is a risk that we will lose space to live in. In that case, we could move to other planets if we find them. Some people may say that people should stop having children, but it is a personal problem, so others should not interfere.
     Secondly, unknown energy sources may exist in space. It is said that oil, the main energy resource on Earth, will run out in the near future. Although saving and not consuming oil is one way to prevent it from disappearing, the demand is strong, so it is not realistic.
     Thirdly, space has unlimited possibilities in terms of science. New findings will make human life richer. Some people may say that we could explore the Earth to find new resources, but it is obvious that it is limited.
     For the reasons above, I think that space exploration is worth the cost. (178 words)

宇宙探査は費用に見合う価値がありますか?

　宇宙開発はコストに見合っています。以下は、私の考えを裏付ける3つの理由です。
　第一に、他の惑星に人が住めるようになることです。地球の人口は増加の一途をたどっており、住むためのスペースがなくなる恐れがあります。その場合、他の惑星が見つかれば移住することも可能です。子どもを産むのをやめればいいという人もいるかもしれませんが、それは個人の問題なので他人が口出しすることではありません。
　2つ目は、宇宙には未知のエネルギー源が存在する可能性があることです。地球上の主要なエネルギー資源である石油は、近い将来枯渇すると言われています。石油がなくなるのを防ぐには、石油を節約して消費しないことも一つの方法ですが、需要が高いので現実的ではありません。
　第三に、宇宙は科学の面でも無限の可能性を持っています。新しい発見があれば、人間の生活はより豊かになります。地球を探索して新しい資源を探せばいいという人もいるかもしれませんが、限界があるのは明らかです。
以上のような理由から、私は宇宙探査はコストをかける価値があると思います。
